Cemetery Clean-Up Dates

  • Spring Clean-Up is March 15th
  • Memorial Day Clean-Up is June 15th
  • Fall Clean-Up is October 15th (vases turned down)

General Rules and Regulations (Overview)

  • Spring displays will be allowed after April 1st/Winter displays after November 15th.
  • Flowers are permitted in permanent vases or one approved temporary vase with stand.
  • Faded, excessive or non-conforming displays or tributes will be removed.
  • Displays considered to be a mowing or maintenance hazard will be removed.
  • Water for fresh flowers is available on the east side of the office building.
  • In-ground plantings of any kind are not permitted.
  • Mt. Calvary Cemetery is not responsible for any missing items from graves, or vandalism.
  • Mt. Calvary Cemetery is not responsible for the repair and maintenance of monuments or in-ground markers.
  • NO FOUNDATIONS OR MONUMENTS MAY BE INSTALLED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL AND AUTHORIZATION.
  • Speed limit is 15 mph and vehicles must stay on drives.

General Rules and Regulations (Full)

Cemetery Clean-Up Dates.
  • Spring Clean-up is held on March 15th (a day before or after if March 15th falls on a Sunday).
  • Fall Clean-up is held on October 15th (a day before or after if October 15th falls on a Sunday).
  • All displays will be removed at these times. No exceptions. Please remove any items you wish to keep before these dates.
  • In the Fall, all vases that are invertible must be turned upside down into their storage positions.


Spring displays will be allowed after April 1st/Winter displays will be allowed after November 15th.
  • In the Spring, new displays may be placed starting on April 1st.
  • In the Fall, new displays may be placed starting on November 15th, this additional time allows for final fall mowing and leaf removal.
  • Staked wreaths, blankets, and additional displays will be allowed during the Fall time only due to that it does not create a mowing hazard.


Flowers are permitted in permanent vases or one approved temporary vase.
  • No glass or ceramic containers are permitted.
  • Acceptable vases are those that are permanently attached to a monument or sturdy temporary vases placed in metal stands. See Mt. Calvary Cemetery office for examples.
  • Only one floral display is allowed per deceased, except during the Memorial Day observance.
  • Additional conforming displays are allowed from mid-May until June 15th.
  • Funeral arrangements or any fresh floral flowers will be removed after 5 days.


Faded, excessive, or non-conforming displays or tributes will be removed.
  • The staff will perform weekly clean-up of faded, excessive, or non-conforming displays.
  • If displays are not maintained and become faded or otherwise unsightly, they will be removed.
  • Conforming displays are fresh or artificial flowers in permanent or sturdy temporary vases placed in metal stands.
  • Non-conforming displays such as shepherds' hooks, easel stands, solar lights, windmills, balloons, stuffed animals, Styrofoam displays, painted rocks, or anything the Cemetery Association deems in poor taste or a mowing hazard, will be removed and stored for a brief period.
  • Non-conforming displays and/or excessive displays will be removed and stored for a brief period.


Displays considered to be a mowing or maintenance hazard will be removed.
  • Temporary vases with metal stands around monuments that are more than 6 inches from the foundation will be removed.
  • All non-sturdy temporary vases without metal stands will be removed.
  • Non-conforming and excessive conforming displays around a monument will be removed.
  • The cemetery is not responsible for damage to monuments or foundations caused by lawnmowers.


Water for fresh floral displays is available on the east side of the office building.
  • Water is available for fresh floral displays in permanent vases or sturdy temporary vases in metal stands at the east side of the Mt. Calvary Cemetery office building from mid-May through mid-October.
  • Please bring your own watering container.


In-ground planting of any kind is not permitted.
  • Planting of bushes, shrubs, trees, or perennial or annual flowers is not allowed.
  • Hanging wind chimes or other objects from existing cemetery trees or bushes are not allowed due to damage that could occur.


Mt. Calvary Cemetery is not responsible for any missing items from graves or vandalism.
  • The cemetery is not responsible for any damage or theft of items that have been placed on monuments.
  • Columbaria vases or any other monument vases that have been damaged, stolen, or vandalized are the responsibility of the owner or family of the deceased, not the responsibility of Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
  • You may tag your display with a name to assist in its replacement if wind dislodges it and/or to reduce theft.
  • The cemetery is not responsible for damage to monuments or foundations due to vandalism.


Mt. Calvary Cemetery is not responsible for repair and maintenance of monuments or in-ground markers.
  • Monuments and foundations are the responsibility of the owner or family of the deceased.
  • Permanent vases on any monuments are to be turned down for winter, if possible.
  • Permanent vases are subject to wear and tear. They may become loose over time. This is the responsibility of the owner or family of the deceased.
  • Columbaria vases may be taken home for the winter to protect them from winter temperatures. If they are left in place and do break, Mt. Calvary Cemetery is not responsible.
  • To keep the grounds of Mt. Calvary Cemetery as picturesque as possible, we ask that the owner or the family of the deceased keep the monuments clean, and in good repair. Please routinely weed around monuments during summer months. While our mowing crews do trim around monuments, many flat and flush grass markers do tend to get overgrown with grass and weeds.
  • Upright monuments that start to lean or have fallen over time due to shifting or deteriorating foundations are the responsibility of the owner or the family of the deceased. The owner or family of the deceased must arrange and cover all costs for the repair.


No foundations or monuments may be installed without prior approval and authorization.
  • Upright monuments are permitted in certain areas only. See Mt. Calvary cemetery office for these areas.
  • All monuments and foundations must conform to the specifications and standards of the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association.
  • All monuments and foundations must be of the correct size, according to the allowed space.
  • Monument companies must check with Mt. Calvary Cemetery before accepting an order. This will allow for correct placement and sizing.
  • Any monuments or foundations installed without prior knowledge or consent may be subject to removal at the expense of the owner or family of the deceased.


Speed limit of 15 mph, driving concerns, and pets.
  • The speed limit on any road within the Mt. Calvary Cemetery is 15 mph. Roads are narrow, and many walkers enjoy the grounds.
  • To minimize damage to the grass, vehicles are to remain on roadways.
  • No long-term parking on premises is allowed.
  • Walking pets are allowed if they remain on a leash. Please clean up after your pets.
  • Be watchful for mowers, machinery, or funeral processions.
